She recently turned her back on showbiz to focus on life with her beau and his children Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine, and Tia, six.
And Kate Wright proved she is doing just that as she headed out in Manchester with boyfriend Rio Ferdinand on Saturday where they hit the city’s Christmas market before making their way to a chauffeur driven car while laden with soft drinks.
The 26-year-old former TOWIE star was looking extraordinarily fresh-faced as she hit the streets with her football ace beau, who was casual in a designer tracksuit as they appeared totally at ease side-by-side.
In September, Kate revealed she was quitting the limelight to focus on Rio and his kids when she spoke for the first time about their relationship.
She told The Sun: ‘I’m taking a step back from the public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on TOWIE, my priority right now is Rio and the family.’
The pair have gone from strength to strength since since going public with their romance earlier this summer. Just weeks ago they shared their first snaps to social media, having remained relatively elusive about their love.
On Saturday, the couple went for totally low-key looks as Kate was clad in all-black with a thick winter coat pulled over the top while showing off her legs in tight black trousers and sporting comfy boots.
Rio lost his wife Rebecca in 2015 following a short battle with cancer aged 34 leaving him the primary caregiver to his kids.
The footballer – who was spotted without his wedding ring for the first time in the appearance – explained how he got through his darkest days and how he allowed himself to be happy again with Kate.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, he said: ‘Well I went and saw the widowers, they opened up about a few things. I went and saw Darren Clarke, the golfer, and there were so many parallels in our and he said “look you will be happy again”.
‘To hear that from someone who had gone through the steps as me helped me open up. Now especially after that meeting that made me feel that there is an opportunity to be happy again. I’m happy again, and in a relationship and it’s going well.’
He added that he has been open with his relationship with his three young children and confessed that his new romance has been a positive effect on the whole family.
After soaring to fame on TOWIE in 2015, when she was introduced as the ex-girlfriend of show heartthrob Dan Edgar, she became a fan favourite, with her sizzling figure and girl’s girl personality winning hearts.
Despite two years of fame, winning various lucrative contracts and garnering 682,000 Instagram followers, she confirmed her time in the spotlight is up as she moves towards looking after the kids.
A friend said: ‘Kate left TOWIE because she wanted to be away from the limelight. But interest continued to be sky high and she struggled to visit the gym… She hopes having no links with brands and no longer being on TV will help give her the quiet life she longs for with her new family.’
As she moves away from the spotlight, Kate’s now-former agent told MailOnline: ‘Over the past two years we’ve seen Kate grow into an amazing woman, I’m really super pleased for Kate and proud of her and support Kate’s decision as she moves into the next chapter of her life, away from the public eye.’
