In a bid to stimulate trade and re-energize the retail business Clarion Events West Africa in partnership with the Retail Council of Nigeria and other leading industries in the retail market has organised, a 3days Home décor and gift ware exhibition at the Landmark Exhibition centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
These came handy when Nigeria is experiencing a tremendous growth in the retail sector up to $125 billion in size due to increase in consumer purchase power and a rise of middle class in the retail market in Nigeria which is now recognized by the Global Retail Index as the largest retail market in sub-Saharan Africa.
In statement credited to the Commercial Director, Clarion Event West Africa, Mr Russel Hughes he said “the home décor and gift ware exhibitions aimed to open channels of trade between Nigerian retail buyers and interior designers with local and international suppliers and manufacturers.
“Also, they will be hosting free to attend seminars on how to access finance, develop customer loyalty, building brands identity, security, logistics, and how to leverage in the e-commerce boom in Nigeria.”
Some of the keynote speakers that spoke at the Exhibition are, Chief Executive Officer of Adam and Eve Modupe Ogunlesi, Managing Director Homewox.ng Afeeze Olopade and Secretary of the retail council of Nigeria Kunle Hamzat, President of DENIM Binta Suliman.
The President Retail Council of Nigeria, Asiwaju Onafowokan who was represented by Secretary of the Retail Council of Nigeria described the exhibition, “as meeting of minds both local and international investors coming to show interest in the Nigerian retail market.
“Mr Kunle expressed dissatisfactions about the less recognition and relevance accorded to the Nigerian retail market in past years.
“He also laments the lack of ready-made man power in the retail business and he made it known that the Retail Council of Nigeria has plans of establishing a Retail Academy that would be offering Retail Management Courses across regions in Nigeria. He added.
